About John Hewitt, MD

Dr. John Hewitt joined the SM&OC division of Southeastern Orthopaedic Specialists in August of 2010 after completing an orthopaedic foot and ankle fellowship at Duke University.

Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Hewitt served four years as an orthopaedic surgeon in the US Navy. He was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal three times for service in Cuba, Spain, Kuwait and Beaufort, SC.

He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University after graduating from Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Hewitt is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He will practice in High Point, Eden, Randleman, and at the main SM&OC office in Greensboro.

A native North Carolinian, Dr. Hewitt resides in Greensboro with his wife, son, daughter, and two rescued mutts. He is an avid runner and cyclist and can frequently be found pacing the sidelines at various youth soccer games.
